Women’s fashion for Spring art happenings: what to wear?

Cynthia Rowley

In May, the opportunities are endless to attend graduations, weddings, art openings, outdoor concerts, and fashion events as the weather warms up and the coats are shed.

This Spring brought light fabrics, floating sheers, pastel colors and loads of floral patterns.  However, designers brought an edge to their designs by adding metallic accents, cutouts, structure and dark colors to add anchoring.

If you’re attending an art opening, the attire depends on the venue.  If you’re not sure, I always say it’s better to be overdressed, especially if you’re networking.  Below are some particularly eye catching styles on the runway this Spring.  There’s something for everyone, from simple to opulent.  Even if the style is a couture design worth thousands of dollars, it’s easy to recreate the look by finding similar, less expensive pieces online or in stores.  Enjoy!
